Troubleshooting

Audio file will not upload? Check these first

Upload errors are often caused by three things: the file is too large, the format is not accepted, or the source uses a codec the destination cannot read. You can usually fix the problem by converting, compressing, or trimming the file.

Check the accepted formats

Many forms accept MP3 even when they reject M4A, OGG, OPUS, or FLAC. If you are not sure what the platform supports, MP3 is the safest everyday audio format. Keep the original file separately before converting.

Check the file size limit

If the destination says the file is too large, compress the audio to a lower bitrate MP3. If the recording includes silence, trim the useful section before compression. This can reduce size without making the voice or music unnecessarily rough.

Check the browser

Some browser-based tools depend on the browser's decoder. If a source file does not open, try an updated browser. If the original came from a special recorder or editing app, export a standard WAV, MP3, or M4A copy first.
