Browser-based file tools and privacy
Many file converters upload your file to a server, process it there, and then provide a download link. RAON Tools is designed differently for supported tasks: audio and image processing runs in the browser. This can reduce server storage and transfer needs, and it can be more comfortable when you are handling personal files.
What browser-based processing means
When you select a file, the browser gives the page temporary access to that file for the current session. JavaScript reads the file, decodes it with browser APIs or client-side libraries, creates the result, and gives you a local download. The file does not need to be intentionally uploaded to RAON Tools servers for these supported tools.
What it does not mean
Browser-based processing is not the same as permanent security for every situation. Your device, browser extensions, operating system, and network environment still matter. You should avoid using any online tool on files that are highly confidential, legally sensitive, or restricted by your organization unless you have permission.
Why some features need internet access
Some tools load client-side libraries from a content delivery network, such as MP3 encoding or HEIC conversion. Those scripts help the browser do the work locally. If your internet connection blocks a library, the tool may not run even though your selected file is not being uploaded as part of the conversion workflow.
Good habits
- Keep an original copy before converting important files.
- Check the result before deleting the source file.
- Use trusted devices when processing personal media.
- Do not upload or process files you do not have permission to use.
- Read the privacy policy when a tool handles files online.
RAON Tools
